In 2010 Bord na Móna entered into unique funding discussions with Enterprise Ireland. We are pleased to announce that we have now received a commitment to assistance from Enterprise Ireland in this R&D programme over the next number of years by providing grant support. Bord na Móna is proposing to spend over €6m on targeted R&D projects in the clean energy, clean water, clean tech and sustainable growing media areas over the coming years. If successful, these projects will result in a significant increase in exports with attendant jobs generation potential.
All new vacancies will be advertised in our current vacancies when finalised.
Apprenticeships
We are proud to support apprenticeships in conjunction with FÁS. We know that apprentices are the craftspeople of tomorrow and they can develop modern high-tech skills in our workshops.
Their progress is reviewed on a continuous, structured basis through modular assessments off-the-job that incorporate course work plus standardised practical and theoretical assessments.
During the on-the-job training phases of apprenticeship the apprentice’s competence is assessed to a pre-specified standard by the employer.
On successful completion of all assessments over a period of 4 years the apprentices will be awarded with a FETAC Level 6 Advanced Certificate. This Level 6 Certificate has national and international recognition and is a compulsory requirement for craftsperson status.
