Bord na Móna in Ireland is the market leader in horticultural categories. The business is continually evolving and is now working to deliver on an ambitious plan to 2030 and beyond expanding our portfolio of horticultural products & services.

The Role:

Our Horticulture Business Unit currently wish to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This role will report to the Head of Business with a dotted line to the Group Finance Controller.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

· To support the Head of the Business and other line managers, in business planning, forecasting and business performance. To contribute to the success of the business by bringing insight, financial expertise and analysis to assist in decision making within the business; whilst also overseeing financial risk and compliance. To work with FSS and present Management & Statutory financial reporting for the business.

· Actively participate in the management, development and deployment of business targets as a member of the senior management team. Provide the key interface between the business and wider finance accounting team, for long term planning, budgeting and forecasting processes. Participate in the development of the Business Unit strategy as a member of the management team with added focus on agreeing and achieving long term targets. Lead the 5 year financial planning process and convert Business Unit targets into plans, budgets, forecasts & KPIs.

· Provide the business with accurate and timely financial information to drive informed decision making including performance assessment, financial analysis and business scenario simulations. Provide insight and challenge to business managers and decision makers leveraging in-depth business and market knowledge. Report on performance against targets, understand the reasoning behind variances, and challenge the business on recovery actions and risks and opportunities assessment.

· Identify and support the drive for process and performance improvement throughout the business. Support the development of effective value creating pricing strategies with objective analysis. Support the business in agreeing/reviewing all major contracts; with a particular emphasis on pricing and commercial terms. Hold a key role in commercial business support in order to drive effective margin across the product portfolio. Monitor the division’s FX flows and work with Treasury and Group Finance to maximise business benefit and risk management.

· Prepare investment appraisals to enable effective & transparent decision making. Lead the evaluation of investment opportunities, and in structuring, negotiating and finalising arrangements in support of strategic investments and pricing decisions. Seek funding from Group Finance to support value-add investment opportunities.

· Work in partnership with Finance Shared Services on the provision of monthly financial information and on the sign of the statutory financial statements. Accountable for financial compliance and controls in conjunction with FSS and partnering to provide solutions to risk management issues. Evaluate changes in legal, tax, statutory & regulatory environment to quantify business impact. Lead periodic risk assessment & internal control reviews.

· Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders, tailoring communications and in particular financial information in such a manner so as to ensure that it is clearly understood by the intended audience.

· As a key member of the Senior Management team, proactively use the Performance Management process as a means to support resource planning within your team and the wider organisation.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

· Educated to Degree level with a Professional Accountancy Qualification is required.

· Seven years’ experience in similar position in an FMCG or similar Industry

· Previous experience of Oracle would be a definite advantage.

· Possess the ability to adapt to the changing needs of any particular sector the Business targets.

· Previous experience managing and developing a team of experienced professionals and graduates

· Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, negotiating and communication skills commercially driven with results based self-starter personality.

· Ability to plan ahead in a structured manner.

· Positive and flexible approach to delivering agreed objectives.

· This role will require frequent travel to our sites in both Ireland and the UK.

· Team player with ability to work on their own initiative.

· Proficiency in all MS Office applications

· Proficiency in the English language is a requirement, alongside proficiency to work in Ireland.

· A “can do” work ethic with excellent problem solving skills.
