This sponsorship began in 2012 and saw us as the first title sponsor in the competitions 60 year history and continues our strong association with the GAA.
Bord na Móna has a long-standing presence and involvement with the people of Leinster in every community and county through our employees and customers. We live in these communities, we work in these communities and we are deeply invested in creating the brightest possible future that we possibly can. Support of these competitions is a natural fit for our organisation.
These games support a very worthy cause. They help finance the Leinster GAA Hardship Fund which has been instrumental down through the years in helping players, player’s families, local communities in times of great need and financial difficulty. We are extremely proud of our support of this worthwhile initiative.
In December 2016, Leinster GAA announced a three year extension of their partnership with Bord na Móna as sponsors of the Leinster GAA Series which incorporates the O’Byrne, Walsh and Kehoe Cups.
The Leinster GAA series 2017, comprising the Bord na Móna O’Byrne Cup, Bord na Móna Walsh Cup and Bord na Móna Kehoe Cup, will run over January and February next and will provide an early preview of what GAA fans throughout Leinster can expect for 2017.
Speaking on behalf of Bord na Móna, Pat Fitzgerald, who was a part of the great Offaly All-Ireland winning team of 1982, said: “We are once again delighted to be title sponsors of the Bord na Móna O’Byrne Cup, Bord na Móna Walsh Cup, and the Bord na Móna Kehoe Cup.
“This sponsorship began in 2012 and saw us as the first title sponsor in the competitions 60 year history and continues our strong association with the GAA.
“Bord na Móna has a long-standing presence and involvement with the people of Leinster in every community and county through our employees and customers. We live in these communities, we work in these communities and we are deeply invested in creating the brightest possible future that we possibly can.”
