Land & Property
Bord na Móna is a significant landowner in Ireland, with the concentration of the company’s lands centred on the Midland counties of Longford, Westmeath, Meath, Roscommon, East Galway, Offaly, Kildare, Laois and Tipperary. This includes up to 80,000 ha of peatland and our goal is to generate commercial, environmental and social value from this key asset.
Water Supply Project
As the long-term population of Ireland continues to grow, especially in the Dublin and Mid East regions, new water supply infrastructure is needed. A critical part of this new infrastructure will be a large reservoir planned for construction in the midlands. The proposed reservoir will store some of the winter flood water from the River Shannon. The water will then be treated and piped to the Dublin and Midland region communities.
