We are pursuing a peat dilution strategy as a core part of the overarching Bord na Móna sustainability agenda. Total peat dilution for the Horticulture business in 2010/2011 was 24% with a target of 50% total peat dilution within 5 years.
Packaged retail products
Bord na Móna launched the Growise brand in the UK and Irish markets in 2010. Since its laungh the range has expanded from 22 products to 37 products in 2011.
The Growise brand offers the consumer a range of peat diluted media products. The range contains a minimum of 25% green compost. This compost is derived from grass cuttings, hedge clippings and other green organics. It’s uniquely manufactured at our Kilberry composting facility in Co Kildare.
