Our Consumer Products Business
Unit currently has a need for a Sustainable New Business Development Manager
for our Horticulture business on a permanent basis. This role will be
multi-location but based primarily in Newbridge and will report to the Head of
Commercial Sales & Marketing, Consumer Products. The purpose of this role
is to identify new opportunities, project manage these opportunities to launch
and once launched, drive the volume and profit for new business opportunities
with the sole purpose of strengthening the Consumer Products offering within
retail, hobby, professional and agricultural categories.

The Role:

 The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include the

  •   Identify new
    business opportunities for the Horticultural business across all adjacent
    sectors and categories to significantly grow this business in line with the
    ambitious short, medium- and long-term targets.

  • Identify and
    develop commercial opportunities with new products with current and new

  • Increase the
    commercial viability of the Green Composting proposition within the business,
    Grow Revenue, Increased volumes, identify new opportunities and additional uses
    for this product. Identify new sources and feedstocks of green raw material.
    Working with our technical department deliver improvements in production,
    quality, and finished product. Deliver a “Bigger, Better, Faster” solution
    which drives value and profit in this area.

  • Develop new key
    initiatives including: Biochar, 3rd party retail packaging for the Kilberry
    facility and developing new diluents amongst other projects.

  • Develop and drive
    new Products in this category: Product such as Soil enrichers, Chicken Manure,
    Rockwool, enriched mulches, other similar affordable and sustainable related

  • Explore other
    related areas of business for BnM horticulture for example: Landscaping
    Business or partnership, supply of ingredients to Landscape businesses such as
    soil improvers, Bulk Bark etc.

  • Identify
    opportunities for related BnM Consumer Products and supply to the Irish Growers
    and Nursery businesses who are looking for replacements for Peat: Soil
    Improvers, ferts, Mulch, Green Compost, Biochar offerings and 3 party sourced

  • Involve, engage,
    and liaises in a professional capacity with other intercompany departments to
    execute and lead new projects which should be delivered in an orderly and
    timely fashion and within budget restrictions.

  • Design and
    develop a business plan to achieve the required sales turnover and
    profitability in line with the sales objectives.

  • Achieve growth
    sales targets by successfully expanding the customer offering.

  • Present sales,
    revenue and realistic forecasts to the management team as required.

  • Account budget
    preparation and management.

  • Preparation of
    presentation and proposals of new projects and updates to current projects on a
    regular basis.

  • Maintain
    outstanding working relationships with strategic clients, enhancing retention
    and new sales through referrals and references.

  • Support project
    delivery to meet customer’s expectations and promote strong, long-lasting
    customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.

  • Talent management, coaching and
    development is crucial in this role as we strive to develop a best in class
    “customer focused” business.

The ideal candidate will
possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  •   5 – 10 years’ experience in the
    Horticultural or related sector at a similar executive level

  • Possess strong communication skills for
    use both internally and externally

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a
    requirement; “Right first time” attitude

  • Have an excellent understanding of
    customers relations across all channels.

  • The candidate must demonstrate strong
    leadership skills within your teams and cross functionally in order to ensure
    buy in from other stakeholders to deliver the required best in class customer

  • Proven ability in decision making and
    delivering key business results

  • Proven ability to drive change within the

  • The candidate must be a finisher with the
    ability to manage a project from start to finish and deliver results.

  • Must possess excellent organization and
    prioritization skills
