na Móna currently has a need for a Tax Manager on a permanent basis.  This role will be based in Newbridge and will
report to the Finance Manager (Lean Centre). 
The Tax Manager will work closely with the business, the broader finance
team and other key stakeholders ensuring tax compliance for the Group at all
times. The role will cover all tax-heads, with specific focus on VAT and
corporation tax from a compliance perspective. Working closely with the
corporate group to help manage and optimise the organisation’s tax position.
The role will offer a strong variety of both compliance and advisory work.

 The
Role:
The main duties and responsibilities of
the role will include the following:

  • Submission of accurate corporation tax, VAT
    returns and other tax returns (PSWT, RCT, Mineral Oils, Carbon Tax) to the Tax
    Authorities in accordance with required frequency of filings.  Manage the year end process and compute the
    income and deferred tax charges for the annual Financial Statements.                                                                             

  • Manage and Identify tax risks throughout the
    Group and take the lead role in managing tax compliance. Effect a tax programme
    which will ensure all Group companies are aware of their tax obligations and
    have procedures and reporting in place to ensure compliance with all
    obligations.                                                                                                                   

  • Develop and maintain effective and highly controlled
    tax processes. Drafting and implementation of tax policies and procedures to
    ensure that the Group are compliant with appropriate tax regulations, while
    continuing to drive more tax efficiency in the Group. Stay up to date on any
    changes in Tax legislation, understanding and communicating any impacts to the
    business.                                                                              

  • Provide appropriate tax advice and deploy best
    practice solutions to internal business partners (e.g. legal team, finance
    teams etc) in the Group and use external advisors as and when required to
    formulate and advise on tax efficient solutions.                                          

  • Partner with Group planning and other
    forecasting exercises, ensuring taxes are considered at every stage.  Review the “as-is” business
    practices and proposed arrangements to provide more tax efficient solutions
    that support these business initiatives.                                

  • Manage the relationship between Revenue
    Commissioners including our dedicated Case Worker assigned to manage the
    Cooperative Compliance Framework arrangement. Conduct internal reviews as
    requested by Revenue under the Cooperative Compliance Framework. Manage the
    relationship, scope of work and tax advice with the Group’s advisors.                     

  • Provide tax advice on matters such as
    acquisitions, JV arrangements, business re-structuring and financial products.
    Provide tax training to appropriate staff. Ensure procedures are in place to
    support VAT, PAYE, PRSI, PWST, Carbon tax etc. and form 46G compliance.
    Maintain up to date Tax Code knowledge for the jurisdictions we operate in.                                           

  • All employees are expected to co-operate fully
    with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and
    Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises                                                                               

  • Lead and Performance Manage your direct
    report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to
    ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives.                   

The
Person:
The ideal candidate will possess the
following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes;

  • 5 years’ post-qualification experience with both Tax and Accounting
    Professional qualifications                                                                                                               

  • Proven capability to manage an in-house tax function in commercial
    organisation.

  • Experience with Big 4 advantageous

  • Knowledge of integrated ERP system (preferably Oracle), Microsoft Office,
    Excel. Experience in AlphaTax system desirable.

  • Strong Leadership and Decision Making skills;

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
