Our open innovation model allows us to create and develop multiple partnerships to help us on our transformation journey. We feel that this is the most progressive means to accelerate our innovation at a competitive pace.
Open innovation expands our reach to new ideas, products and technologies beyond the boundary of our own business employees. It provides us with the opportunity to discover what research is ongoing in universities and research institutions, what new technologies are being developed worldwide and to understand how inventors see our future world.
In this operational model, external collaborations and partnerships are managed through the central innovation team where we continuously seek to engage with new partners and investigate potential collaborations. New ideas and projects are fed through the Innovation Centre into the relevant Business Units who continuously build their own capacity based on their specific needs. A central core innovation team directs the whole system towards the long-term strategic company goals.
If you are interested in connecting with Bord na Móna Innovation Centre to discuss potential collaborations, investments or partnerships please contact us.
To support our open Innovation model, an ‘Innovation Ecosystem’ structure has been established and managed through the Innovation Centre. This consists of the core innovation team being supported by a select innovation group embedded in each of the Bord na Móna business units to identify opportunities, liaise with the team and deliver on projects. This, in turn, is directed and advised by the larger innovation community with involvement from our external network including Universities, Industry Research groups, inventors and entrepreneurs.
If you would like to be part of Bord na Móna’s external Innovation Network please contact us to be included on our mailing list. You can also connect with Bord na Móna Innovation on LinkedIn to keep up to date with new business developments and innovations and events we will be attending.
