A Day on the Bog- Turf Life

RTÉ One’s Wild Island series aired on Friday 4th May with A Day in the Bog (Turf Life). An unknown world right on our doorstep, a haven of biodiversity and hidden beauty, don’t miss your chance to watch as Derek Mooney and Sinead Kennedy delve into how Irish bogs are used today. From Lough Boora Park in County Offaly, they bring the bogs to life with some very interesting people.

Watch them work up an appetite with a Michelin star chef, uncover the history of communities and employment at the heart or Ireland, meet an ecologist restoring bog land sanctuaries for future generations and the Head of Transformation at Bord na Móna who discusses the biggest change of land use in Ireland. There’s also a surprise in store when Derek Mooney gets up close and personal with one of the world’s iconic species who has made its home in a very unusual place. Don’t miss out on your chance to watch it on the RTE Player. It’s available until Sunday the 3rd of June.
