AES Bord na Móna’s charity programme allocates 1% of online payments over €20 to our charity partners and community organisations in need around Ireland.
This year, while collecting for our nominated charity partner – The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation – we have also donated to a range of clubs and charities across a spectrum of great causes.
Our charity donations have been allocated to organisations helping out and solving problems on a range of issues such as homelessness, healthcare, sporting and social causes. These include Peter McVerry House, Barretstown, St. Vincents Cancer Ward, CMRF Crumlin, Ma’s on a Mission Toy Appeal and the Irish Equine Centre, to name just a few.
In 2017, AES Bord na Móna raised over €80,000 to be split equally between Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. We’d like to thank our customers for helping us raise €80,173 in that year. The money was split between Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin (€40,747.20) and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital (€39,426.67) for various projects.
In 2016, AES Bord na Móna also raised €78,000 for these two charities. The money was again split equally between Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.
This donation helped fund the following:
AES Bord na Móna will continue making donations to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in 2017. You can continue to help us raise more money for these wonderful charities by paying online, as 1% of all online payments over €20 is donated.
In 2015, an impressive €60,000 was donated to Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. The funds raised went towards the building of a much-needed Neurology Unit. The current Neurology Unit treats almost 400 patients a month and specialises in complex disorders such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and brain disorders. Temple Street Children’s University Hospital helps over 145,000 children each year, from babies to teenagers.
In 2014, AES Bord na Móna set out to reach a donation target of €50,000 for St. John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. This target was achieved and the donation has aided in the upgrade of St. John’s Ward and its state-of-the-art bone-marrow transplant unit. The upgrade of facilities has greatly improved the quality of conditions for sick children and their families during incredibly stressful times.
It is our plan to continue donating to different charities in much the same way into the future.
