Resource Recovery

Bord na Móna will operate and expand our resource recovery capabilities supporting Government policy and the circular economy. Bord na Móna is accelerating investment in higher-value recycling and resource recovery business. Our ambition is to take the lead in developing a circular and sustainable waste industry for Ireland, targeting new recycling streams in line with national policy.

Energy

Our Energy business is the consolidation of our traditional business of peat, fuels and horticulture along our Powergen Operations business. In the next few years, you will see a new Bord na Móna. We are going to accelerate the end of peat harvesting, replacing peat with renewable, greenhouse-gas neutral, biomass. Building a national biomass industry will provide a renewable supply of biomass that will provide the national grid with dispatchable green energy to support wind and solar generators which have greater variability.
