Our Bord na Mona Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for a Senior Finance Analyst on a permanent basis. The roles will be based in Newbridge and reporting to the Finance Manager.

The successful candidates will prepare Management Accounts and Financial Reporting for the Resource Recovery division, to include processing journals, revenue recognition and costs accruals. Liaising with Management team members as required to provide required financial analysis, commentary of budget variances and KPI reporting.

The Role:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Perform monthly requirements that include the preparation and posting of monthly journals, month end accounts, monthly balance sheet reconciliations and any financial analysis as required.
  • Prepare financial reports for Management Team meetings augmenting the KPI dashboard with additional unit specific operational KPIs. Report variances on individual cost centres. Work in partnership with budget owners to provide financial support to ongoing cost reduction and cost efficiency initiatives. Interpreting financial information to assist in understanding variances to budget and developing recommendations for actions required to ensure budget targets are met.
  • Play a key role in the preparation of annual budgets and weekly forecasts. Present to Senior Management and clearly articulate assumptions and figures
  • Take ownership for organisation wide processes, provide direction and guidance to the teams in that area. Be accountable for the results
  • Lead key finance projects including transformation, process and system upgrades and other business requirements
  • Supervise a number of the finance team and provide guidance and direction to team members on key areas
  • Develop positive working relationships with the Finance team and Resource Recovery teams. Become a trusted advisor to the depot teams. Communicate effectively within and across teams taking account that strong teamwork is essential to achievement of optimal business performance. Provide guidance and direction to team members
  • Ensure Environmental, Health & Safety management systems are followed. All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes.

  • Qualified accountant with 2–5-year post qualification experience
  • Management Accounts preparation as well as Oracle system experience.
  • Professional subscription – Professional Accountancy Body
  • Effective interpersonal skills (verbal and written) to communicate with peers and management team.
  • Experience with handling management Account’s preparation.
  • Good IT proficiency with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and experience with Oracle is an advantage.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
  • Proficiency in the English language
  • Experience in the waste industry a distinct advantage
