Our BNM Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for a Yard Operative on a permanent contract. The role will be based in Silliot Hill and reporting to the Yard Supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Yard Supervisor to ensure yard activities are carried out in an effective, efficient, and safe manner.

The Role:

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

• Work effectively with other members of the team to ensure the yard is maintained to the highest standards. Prioritise and carry out assigned duties as required to ensure completion of tasks in line with operational requirements.

• Be pro-active in identifying & resolving any issues that arise on site. Ensure all incidents & accidents that occur are reported immediately to the Operations & Planning Supervisor.

• Wear appropriate PPE at all times when carrying out assigned duties. Comply with all company policies and initiatives to ensure safe operation and efficient operation of all plant and equipment on site.

• Provide cover for weighbridge staff and take all necessary measures to ensure that transactions are processed accurately in line with company procedures. This includes cash handling and filing procedures.

• Show courtesy to all customers and members of the public at all times as well as work colleagues. Report any difficulties encountered with others to the line manager.

• All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-workers and members of the public using the premises

• Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes.

• 1 – 2 years experience in a similar role

• Waste Management/Logistics experience an advantage

• Manual Handling and Experience with Machinery an advantage

• Must be flexible to work across other areas, as required

• Eligibility to work in Ireland is required

• Proficiency in the English language required

• Experience in the waste industry a distinct advantage
