Biomass Yard Supervisor

Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has a need for a Biomass Yard Supervisor on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry and will report to the Biomass Manager. The successful candidates’ primary responsibility is to assist in ensuring deliveries of Biomass are carried out in safe and efficient manner, The Supervisor must also assist in the efficient handling of biomass materials at Edenderry and the consistent delivery of product to meet the plant requirements, building and maintaining a rapport with all operations team members, ensuring a high level of H&S is maintained at all times;

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Biomass Operations ensuring consistent reliable delivery of product to the plant, Ensure high H&S standards are maintained – working with H&S manager as required;
  • Compilation of Work Plans and Shift Rota’s to maximize efficiency of the operation, Provide Holiday cover for Log Yard and Ash site supervision;
  • Communication with operatives to ensure Health and Safety levels are maintained to a high standard, to ensure traffic is directed to the appropriate area, safely and efficiently;
  • Liaising with plant maintenance teams on the reliable operation of plant and equipment, Machinery operation maybe required from Time to time, must have competency in Wheeled Loader, Tracked Excavator and Tractor and records of associated training;
  • Assist in the monitoring of staff performance and dealing with issues that may arise with the workforce, compilation and submittal of staff timesheets onto portal, managing holiday, sick leave to ensure ongoing continued operation of the plant;
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own and the wider teams objectives;
  • All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises;
  • Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s objectives;

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • 5+ Years working in supervisory role within an operations business;
  • Experience of the Biomass Handling Operations would be a key advantage;
  • Computer Skills, Communication Skills, Well organized, flexibility;
