Material Co-Ordinator

Our Renewable Energy Business Unit currently has a need for a Material Co-Ordinator on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Edenderry Power and will report to the Thermal Plant Manager. Material Inventory management is maintained by the Materials Co-Ordinator working under the direction and leadership of the Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will carry responsibility for achieving EHS, commercial, quality and personnel development targets.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Planning and organising the maintenance activities alongside with maintenance Engineers and Technicians. Is in charge of allocating and collecting the materials and spare parts for the operation of the plant and Tippler activities;
  • Material management including procurement, dispatch, receipt, and the storage of the goods;
  • Work with Finance department for Stock taking and month end financial reporting;
  • Support the maintenance teams ensuring plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within any environmental limits of the site. Ensure 365 x 24 x 7 availability is maintained;
  • Lead with pro-active and creativity in problem solving and initiatives, good understanding of BnM Rail activities and material requirements for same. Good understanding of mobile plant requirements and material requirements for same;
  • Play a key role in the implementation of the Plant business Management System;
  • Participate in the broader management of the Plant and the development of Human Resources. General Administration and maybe a requirement to assist with employee timesheet compilation from time to time;
  • Maintain interfaces with the owners, other interested parties, legal authorities, suppliers and contractors;
  • Ensure material provisions are in place to ensure that maintenance work is carried out in a safe manner;
  • Ensure that safety procedures are used and kept up to date for all maintenance activities. Promote a safe place and system of work;
  • All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises; 
  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team’s, objectives;

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role; 
  • Appropriate technical qualifications, inventory management, logistics. Basic IT skills;
  • Strong understanding of BnM Rail activities and associated material requirements is a key requirement;
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and tools;
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills: 
  • Computer literacy and experience with eg Excel, Maximo:
