Bord na Móna announce €1.6 Billion investment in green economy

Almost 100 new direct jobs and over 150 indirect jobs will be created in the development of renewable energy assets and new recycling operations by 2023, while 200 jobs for employees transitioning from peat-related operations will be included in the enhanced peatland rehabilitation programme.

Bord na Móna and Coillte collaborate to transform 1500 hectares into native woodland

Bord na Móna announces today, their collaboration with Coillte, to transform former peat production land into native woodland. 1500 hectares of bog no longer used for peat production will be initially targeted in Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and Tipperary for plantation of 600,000 new trees.
