Bord na Móna and Coillte are pleased to announce the landmark supply of 240,000 tonnes of residual biomass from Coillte that will be provided to Edenderry Power over the next three years.

Bord na Mona, in partnership with ESB, has brought another 93MW of renewable energy to the electricity supply in Ireland with its latest wind farm in Co. Mayo entering full commercial operation.

Almost 100 new direct jobs and over 150 indirect jobs will be created in the development of renewable energy assets and new recycling operations by 2023, while 200 jobs for employees transitioning from peat-related operations will be included in the enhanced peatland rehabilitation programme.

Bord na Móna announces today, their collaboration with Coillte, to transform former peat production land into native woodland. 1500 hectares of bog no longer used for peat production will be initially targeted in Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and Tipperary for plantation of 600,000 new trees.
